No 27 Caboose Cupola Lamp

The lamp shows red signals from either end. The oil pot is placed in position from inside of car. A tin cap can be placed over the end fronting toward engine.

No 26 Caboose Cupola Lamp

There are three compartments. The oil pot is placed in position from inside of car. When the train is on the main track the oil-pot is in the part which shows green ahead and ruby to the rear. When train is side-tracked the oil-pot can be placed in center compartment and displays green signals both ahead and to the rear.

No 29 Combination Caboose Tail Lamp

The lamp is placed in position from inside the caboose and hence is easily trimmed, filled, and light adjusted from within while train is in motion. Its supply of air is received from interior of car, while the products of combustion escape through an outlet at top of lamp. There is no inlet from outside the car, therefore the light is unaffected when lamp is under heavy air pressure. Figure A [above right] shows the two inside compartments. When train is on main track, the light is placed in lower compartment, and displays a red signal to the rear and green ahead and at the side. When train is side-tracked, by transferring light to upper compartment, a green signal is shown in each of three directions -- side, front, and rear.

Notes: Page in the original catalog showing placement of signals on rolling stock have been omitted for now; these may be added later.
